Christmas Show!

20 October

Hello Everyone,

We are excited to announce the theme for the annual Christmas Show this year! Our show will be “Holidays around the World: An Olympic Celebration!” Everyone will get to choose a country to “represent” and a holiday song that goes with the country, on a first come, first serve, basis. There will be a sample list of countries and song inspiration on the Palmetto Skate Club website shortly, but be thinking of a couple options in case someone gets to your first choice before you. Also, we will try to have a “write in” option in case a country that a skater wants isn’t listed. A couple skaters can represent one country, but there will be no song repeats. Each skater  freestyle 3 and above may participate in a maximum of 1 solo and 1 group number, and those below freestyle 3 may participate in a maximum of 2 group numbers.

There will be a mandatory dress rehearsal on Friday night, December 1st (time TBD). During this dress rehearsal everyone will learn the closing number, and run through some or all of their program(s). This dress rehearsal is very important. If you do not come, you will not know where to go in the closing number, and therefore will not be eligible to participate in this final part of the show. Contact jade.eleazer@gmail.com if you have any questions or concerns.

This year we are asking for your help with decorations! Coming soon, there will be templates of tree ornaments for each skater to decorate with their chosen country’s flag. These will be hung on the boards for the show. Be on the lookout for these in weeks to come!

Remember that we will need help putting up and taking down the decorations on the day of the show (Sunday December 3rd) so volunteers are greatly appreciated. An email with a link to sign up for volunteer positions will be sent out soon. This would be a great time to get some of your 10 required service hours in for this year!

Can’t wait to see you out there!!

Thanks,

Jade Eleazer and PSC
