Madalyn Hair competed in the Ice Skating Institute World Competition July 28 – August 2, 2014 in Boston Massachusetts. Competing in five events, throughout the week, she placed:
1st place – Freeskate 7
1st place – Dramatic Spotlight 7 – 10
3rd place – Artistic 7 – 10
3rd place – Rhythmic Ribbon 7 – 10
3rd place – Footwork 7 – 10
The entire competition saw over 1400 skaters from around the country, as well as Japan, China, Philippines, and Canada. Madalyn’s superb placements helped Palmetto Skate Club finish 76th out of 104 skating clubs there, with just a single representative!
Other highlights from the week included meeting up with skating friends from Knoxville’s Ice Chalet, a competitor’s dinner cruise around Boston Harbor, meeting the legendary Dick Button and having him autograph a copy of his latest book, plus seeing exhibition performances by Mirai Nagasu, Ross Miner, and National Champion Synchronized Team The Haydenettes!
